Gene Arthur Vickers

Gene Arthur Vickers, age 72, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Vickers was born on April 8, 1943, in Willacoochee, GA to the late Aubrey Vickers and Myrtle Myers Vickers. Survivors include: his daughter, Sandee Vickers of Douglas, GA; son, Gene Wesley (Leslie) Vickers of Douglas, GA; sister, Joyce Vickers of Douglas, GA; brother, Dwayne Vickers of Douglas, GA; three grandchildren, Aaron Vickers, Courtney Vickers, and Nathan Vickers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Pannell Vickers; brother, Robert Vickers; and three sisters, Betty Brigmond, Nell Davis, and Juanita Vickers. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Elaine Keene officiating. Music was furnished for the service by CD Betty Brigmond "I Want Know How It Feels." Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
