Evelyn Purvis

Evelyn Purvis, age 83, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Purvis was born on November 7, 1932, in Douglas, GA to the late Wiley Harper and Sally Spivey Harper. Survivors include: her husband, Elisha Purvis of Douglas, GA; son, Wade (Carol) Purvis of Douglas, GA; brother, Otis (Nola) Harper of Broxton, GA; two grandchildren, Kimberly Elisa (Kyle) Stevens of Douglas, GA and Kayla Elana Purvis of Douglas, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Illa Baptist Church with Rev. Walter James and Dr. Ben Glosson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Illa Baptist Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
