Eugene (Gene) Talmadge Kight

Mr.  Eugene (Gene) Talmadge Kight, age 81, of Broxton, Ga., went home to his

Heavenly Father on Friday, October 13, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.

Mr. Kight was born on June 10, 1936, in Pridgen, Georgia to the late Vernie Lee

Kight and Ruby Blount Kight. He attended Oak Grove Methodist Church.

Survivors include:  Wife:  Marilyn Shrouder Kight of 56 years from Broxton, Ga. ,  Sons: Freddie and his wife Regina of Pickerington, OH, Allen and his wife Beth of Granger, IN and Jimmie of Atlanta, Ga. and a Step daughter Brenda (Richard) Wooten of Broxton, Ga. and a special friend, Michael Harper of Baxley, Ga.,  that he loved like a son. Grandchildren: Lacie Kight, Sloan Kight, Zak Kight, Emily Kight, Zane Kight. Great-grandchildren: Jadynn Halterman, MaKaylla Kight, Savannah Kight, Rylee Halterman,  Bentley Kight and Valerie Fenwick. Step-Grandchildren: Melissa Smith and Crystal Williams.

Step Great-Grandchildren: Dylan MCQuaig, Kyndall McQuaig, Taylor Williams and Richard Williams.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Vernie (Sambo) Lee Kight, Jr. and his sister Kathleen Kight Hatfield.

Mr. Kight loved his family, gardening, hunting and fishing.

The family will receive friends Wednesday , October 18, 2017 at 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

The graveside service will be held Thursday October 19, 2017 at  Pridgen Baptist Church Cemetery in Pridgen, Ga., at 2:00 pm with Rev. Tim Mock and Rev. Gary Griffin presiding.
