Lillian Chester

Lillian F Fussell Chester, age 94, of Douglas, GA passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Chester was born on May 25, 1920, in Douglas, GA to the late Henry Grady Fussell and Celia F. Corbitt Fussell. She is the Widow of the late Archie B. Chester. Mrs. Chester will be remembered as Member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for sixteen years. Active participant in Harper's Bazaar at First United Methodist Church, Teacher with the Head Start Program in Coffee County School System. Survivors include: her two sons, Jon Chester of Douglas, GA and James David Chester of Marietta, GA, one granddaughter, Stephanie Claire Chester, Alexandria, VA, several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Sam Vernon officiating. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Douglas or the Douglas Humane Society.
