Just read online about Dona's passing. Both of us taught in Coffee County though not in the same school for many years. Also I knew her as a member of several organizations and she always had a smile and hello to everyone.Marlene King Richards

Jennie and Carol, I am still in shock about your mother. I was going to call her before the weekend to see if I needed to pick her up in Statesboro enroute back to Doulgas from SC. I even put her number in my wallet. She and I talked on Mon, 4th. I am so glad I had that last great, LONG, conversation with her....wouldn't take anything for that. I am so sorry that I am IN NC today and at my mother's tomorrow. I will not get to attend visitation nor the service. I will be doing a memorial as soon as I get back in town. I am so sad but so happy for your dad and mom.....I KNOW they are having a grand time....they were joined at the hip and I know they both had many health trials these past few years....I know Dona would tell us we all need to hurry up and get up there....so MUCH better than down here!!! Still, I know you two and Christopher are going to miss her more than words can express, but thank God for the great memories you all made.

Ms. Dona was a sweetheart. Her and Mr. Jeff were bright spots in our day. They both are and will be missed so very much. First time we met Mr. Jeff at art guild he gave my daughter Joyce a beautiful piece of scrap cut glass and she has cherished it ever since. When we went to visit Ms. Dona and she let Joyce pick another piece from Mr. Jeff work shop, she was so excited. We love ya Ms. Dona !!
