Rusty Kirkland, age 62, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home. Rusty was born on August 7, 1958 in Americus, Georgia the son of the late Russell Daniel Kirkland Sr and Prue Ann Reynolds Kirkland.
Rusty worked as a sales and service representative with Fastening Solutions and was a member of Douglas First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Kirkland of Douglas, GA; daughter, Larissa Davis (Carl) of Broxton, GA; son, Daniel Kirkland III (Sarah) of Athens, GA; six grandchildren, Kaleb Davis, Reese Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Abby Davis, Kate Kirkland, Emery Kirkland; sister, Cheryl Mathews (Vondal) of Douglas, GA; niece, Carrie Redish; nephew, Keith Mathews; sister-in-law, Paula Douglas of Broxton, GA; Loving companion, his dog “Carlos”.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 3pm until time of service at 4pm at Sims Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 4:00pm at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James “Buddy” Jordon officiating. Larissa Davis and Dominic LaRiccia will give a eulogy. Musical selections will be “I Can Only Imagine”, “Amazing Grace My Chains are Gone” and “Even Thou I’m Leaving” all on CD.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Coffee Regional Medical Center to support the Oncology Services, C/O Walda Kight.
Memorialization is by cremation.
