Mr. Robert Lee Johnson, age 86, of Nicholls, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Johnson was born on December 17th, 1936, in Coffee County, Georgia to Mr. Buster Johnson and Mrs. Vermell Cato Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with the grandchildren. He was an inspirational teacher to all who came after him, and will leave a lasting impact on so many lives.
Survivors include: Beloved Wife of 68 years; Mrs. Maxine Walsh Johnson of Nicholls, GA, One Son; Troy (Shirley) Johnson of Wray, GA, Three Daughters; Melba (Tony) Jump of Douglas, GA, Marilyn (Jerry) Cato of Nicholls, GA, and Kay Johnson of Nicholls, Ga, Nine Grandchildren; Timothy Jump, Clara (Steve) Watkins, Nathan (Jennifer) Cato, William (Christy) Cato, Rosey (Kipp) Jewell, Jade (Bradley) Sharpe, Aaron (Kaela) Johnson, Justin (Melinda) Johnson, and Ronnie (Sarah) Cato, Twenty Great-Grandchildren; Lane Johnson, Ada Kate Johnson, Aniston Johnson, Ansley Johnson, Ambree Johnson, Leah Jewell, Logan Jewell, Sage Jewell, Kade Jewell, Mahaley ( K.C.) Watson, Aries Cato, Bailey Cato, Hope Cato, Hannah Youngblood, Gage Burgson, Glen Mangun, Hayden Tanner, Graycen Tanner, Addie-Kay Sharpe, Dalton Cato, Three Great-Great-Grandchildren; Madilyn Watson, Noah Watson, and Magnolia Watson, One Brother; Riley Johnson of Douglas, GA. He was preceded in death by: Father; Buster Johnson, Mother; Vernell Johnson, One Sister; Edna McGee, Five Bothers; Edward Johnson, Huey Johnson, Albert Johnson, Johnny Johnson, and Dewey Johnson, One Grand-daughter; Addie Morgan Hayes.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 from 6PM until 9PM, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held at The Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, at 11AM with Bro. David Davis and Bro. Lee Moore officiating. Internment to follow at Calvary Full Gospel Cemetery.
