Lorene Batten, age 89, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Batten was born on April 8, 1931 in Ben Hill County, Georgia. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Hoyt Batten, son, Ronnie L. Batten, three brothers, Jr. Walsh, Curtis Walsh, Peter Walsh and two sisters, Bobbie Meeks and Wanell Roberts.
Mrs. Batten worked with the Coffee County School System for over 35 years, as a lunchroom worker, was a member of New Bethel Holiness Baptist Church in Ben Hill Co., GA. Also a member of Calvary Mission Holiness Baptist Church, and First Assembly of God, Douglas, GA.
Survivors include son, Ronnie A. Batten (Yvonne); grandchildren, Gabriela Batten of Broxton, GA, Kaylee Batten of Alston, GA and Carmelia George of Alston, GA, Jennifer Heinz, Carmella Gralgey, Brooke Douglass, Abbic Owen, Alice Owen, with numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:00am at Salem Church Cemetery with Rev. Edsel Young officiating.
