Larry Richardson, age 71, of Wray, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Richardson was born on December 21, 1949 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Fred Walter and Mary Harper Richardson.
Mr. Richardson was a retired Regional Engineer with ALLTEL/Windstream Communications, a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of Unity Church where he was known as the Candy man.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Richardson of Wray, GA; son, Jason Richardson (Anna) of Newnan, GA; daughter, Jan Brown (Peter) of Wray, GA; six sisters, Millie Jo Hobbs (Lyn) of Fair Hope Alabama, Renee Spivey (Ronnie) of Wray, GA, Linda Vickers (Robert) of Willacoochee, GA, Diane Smith of Ambrose, GA, Evelyn Barganier (Bob) of Florida, Hazel Greene of Dalphin Island, Alabama; three brothers, Mickey Richardson (Sandy) of Columbus, GA, George Richardson (Gwen) of Wray, GA and David Richardson (Dell) of Wray, GA; surviving in laws, Leroy Morgan Ft. Valley, GA, Billy Gardner of Fair Hope, Alabama and Betty Richardson of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren, Braxton Bell Richardson, Sheala Brown, Laykin Brown and Tori Robinson; one great grandchild, Wrenley Bennett; host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 4:00 pm at Unity Church with Rev. Joseph Cochran and Rev. Daniel Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bull Brown, Zane Spivey, Brian Richardson, DeWayne Richardson, Stephen Smith and Kevin Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Vick Paulk, Dalton Bennett, Chris Richardson, Jason Richardson, Blake Cochran, Jorge Oviedo, Mal Broadway.
