Karen Carver Riddle

On Thursday, December 17 2020 Karen Carver Riddle, loving Mother, Grandmother, wife, and friend passed suddenly, but peacefully at the age of 54.

Born March 3, 1966 to Melvin and Carolyn Carver. She had two sisters Tammy, and Melvela. She had a son Brazwell and daughter Beau with her then husband Warren Barker. She had two grandchildren Bryson Troestler, and Amaya Troestler whom she adored and loved more than life itself. She had been a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Fl and surrounding areas. She attended Sandalwood and Terry Parker High Schools and was an honor student. She completed undergraduate degrees at Florida Community College Jacksonville as well as St. Leo university. She completed a nursing degree and was a registered nurse. She had also completed many credits toward a Masters degree at University of North Florida.

Karen was a multi talented individual with gifts for singing art and writing. She won awards and accolades in high school and college for her writing prowess. She had aspired to do children’s stories and had hoped to one day get published. Her gifts as a singer were noticed in high school chorus. And at one point was a backup singer with a local professional band. And sang a solo on stage in front of thousands. Her most recent passion was her art. She had a unique and pleasing style. She was amazing at color selection. She was in the process of making prints of some of her works to sell online. She was in a very upbeat and happy time of her life and was very excited about her plans for the future. She will be tremendously missed by her surviving family and friends, her husband David Riddle and the love of her life John Brandorff.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, January  10, 2021, 2PM at Carver Baptist Church Cemetery.

There will be a celebration of life service, Saturday March 6, 2021 from 12-3 pm at the Larry M. Carroll memorial park in the town of Baldwin. Will cater meat from Sonny’s BBQ. Will do pot luck for side dishes and desserts. There are a few picnic tables there at the gazebo. I encourage everyone to bring their own lawn chair to be most comfortable. I do not have an exact address. But it’s easy to fine if you turn at Everybody’s restaurant and go north you’ll run right into it.
