Joe O'Steen

Joe O’Steen, age 87, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Sunday December 9, 2018 at Vista Park, Douglas, Georgia. Mr. O’Steen was born on April 3, 1931 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Walter O’Steen and Mary Lott O’Steen.

He worked as a auto mechanic with Roosevelt Body Shop, attended Mora Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia Adams O’Steen, son, Earl O’Steen and daughter, Mary Melissa O’Steen.

Survivors include two sons, Clay O’Steen of Douglas, GA and Adam Jerome O’Steen (Alysha) of Douglas, GA; three brothers, James “Doc” O’Steen of West Point, GA, Bobby O’Steen of South Carolina and Kenneth “Pap” O’Steen of Valdosta, GA; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren; several nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 2:00pm at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James “Doc” O’Steen officiating. Interment will follow at Harrell Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home.
