James W. Waldron, age 88, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Waldron was born on February 1, 1932 in Atkinson County, Georgia the son of the late Marvin and Pearlie Carver Waldron.
Mr. Waldron was a farmer and a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Edens Waldron and a sister, Ruby Kirkland.
Survivors include two daughters, Wendy West (Kerry) of Douglas, GA and Melinda Tyre (Mike) of Douglas, GA; two sons, Bryan Waldron (Denise) of Douglas, GA and Keith Waldron (Jenny) of Broxton, GA; two sisters, Shirlene Davis (Roy) of Douglas, GA and Ruth Adams (Charles) of Douglas, GA; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 11:00am at Refuge Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Gilliard and Rev. Alvin Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The pallbearers will be Doug Shook, Will Coffee, Shawn Bullard, Conner Waldron, Reed Waldron and Daniel Waldron.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, October 14, 2020 from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home.
