Jack Brantley, age 85, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, peacefully at his residence. Mr. Brantley was born on January 3, 1936, in Douglas, GA to the late James Frank Brantley and Opal Harper Brantley.
Mr. Brantley was formerly employed by the A.S.C.A. Office, Douglas Production Credit, and the Douglas Exchange Bank. Mr. Brantley sold life insurance for Franklin Life Insurance Company and Delta Life Insurance Company. Mr. Brantley was also very successful at vermiculture and grew worms for 25 years. Mr. Brantley was a longtime member of Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church and loved our Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors include: His wife of 66 years, Lucy Nell Smith Brantley of Douglas, GA, Son, Johnny (Katrina) Brantley of Douglas, GA, Daughter, Jackie (Mike) Rentz of Valdosta, GA, Daughter, Luci Brantley of Douglas, GA, Grandchildren, Jack (Carrie) Rentz, Stan (Megan) Rentz, Grant (Jessica) Rentz, Michaelanne (Matthew) Parrish, Dawn (Craig) Coffee, John Brantley, Mark (Kara) Taft, Great-Grandchildren, Grace Rentz, Sawyer Rentz, Andrew Rentz, Eli Rentz, Caleb Rentz, Brantley Rentz, Georgiaclaire Rentz, Warren Rentz, Lawrence Parrish, Lucy Kate Parrish, Jase Rish, Dane Rish, Cally Coffee, Bentley Rose Brantley, Lily Kate Taft, and Trace Taft, Brother, Jessie (Sue) Brantley, Sister, Maxine Lamb, Sister, Jean Brantley, Sisters-in-Law, Lawana Brantley, Joann Brantley, and Betty Brantley, Brother-in-Law, Larry Rains and a Special Friend, Frankie Harrell. Mr. Brantley was preceded in death by four brothers, Billy Brantley, Tony Brantley, Jimmy Brantley, Julian Brantley, a sister, Audrey Rains, and his parents James Frank Brantley and Opal Harper Brantley.
The family will receive friends at Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM
Funeral services will be held at Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 2:00PM, with the Rev. Walt Deloach and Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. Mrs. Jackie Brantley Rentz will be delivering a special eulogy. The interment will follow at Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
