Harry Carver Obituary

Harry Partin Carver, age 98, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Carver was born on July 27, 1922 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Perlie E. & Elsie Belle Partin Carver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ira Jean Phillips Carver, sister, Betty Joiner and 3 brothers, Dan, Bruce and, Charles Carver.

Mr. Carver was a former owner along with his brothers, Bruce & Dan of Douglas Variety Works, a member of Coffee Squares (Square Dancing Group), Coffee Sippers Camping Club and, a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 18 and, attended Fellowship Christian Church.

Survivors include daughter, DanNette Trowell (Joey) of Douglas, GA; 3 sons, Charles Carver (Diane) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Wayne Carver (Debbie) of Martinez, GA and, Terry Carver of Douglas, GA; 8 grandchildren, Lacey Yawn (Jason), Amy Bohannon (Josh), Lindsey Carver, Jessi Carver, Michael Carver, James Carver, Josh Jordan and, Jeb Jordan; 6 great grandchildren, Madison Yawn, Zachary Yawn, Aubree Yawn, Kynlee Bohannon, Rylee Belle Bohannon and, Jack Jordan; sister, Peggy Griffin of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, March 14, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Church Cemetery, Ambrose, GA with Rev. Leroy Spivey officiating. Military honors will be provided by Ft. Stewart Honor Guard.
