Delores Coleman Obituary

Delores Elaine Coleman, age 74, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Community Hospice, Vidalia, Georgia. Mrs. Coleman was born on September 30, 1945 in London, Ohio the daughter of the late Williard Lewis Ruoff and Clara Lenora Bausch Ruoff.

Delores was a dedicated wife and mother, creating and decorating homes together with Bobby as work took them to Georgia, Ohio, South Carolina, Arizona, and finally back to Georgia.

She was very creative and talented especially with sewing and quilting whether in competitions, sharing with others, or for her own and family enjoyment.  She enjoyed china painting, developing her skills at art guilds and under tutoring by a renowned china art painter and friend.  She continued to hone her skills at national week-long workshops—special vacation time for her and Bobby.  They shared many travels to points of interest as well as outings for pleasure and discovery.

Pets were part of the family over the years with fondness for dachshunds and Scottie dogs.

Mrs. Coleman was a 1963 graduate of Plains High School, Mount Sterling, Ohio, a member of the Townhall Players a theatrical group in Groveport, Ohio, member of Wiregrass Artist Guild in Coffee County, GA, was of the Lutheran Faith and was a homemaker.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Coleman, sister, Marilyn Jean Powell and a brother, John David Ruoff.

Survivors include daughter, Jill Rose (Richard) of Clearwater, FL; son, Matt Coleman (Donna) of Prince Frederick, MD; two grandchildren, Jessica Rose of Montreal, Canada and Kyle Rose of Orlando, FL; sister, Norma Ann Pitts of Columbus, Ohio.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:00am at Douglas City Cemetery with Dr. Don Hattaway officiating.            .
