Barbara Ann Moore, age 83, of Douglas, Georgia passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 24, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Robert “Bob” Moore; their sons Terry (Jeannie) Moore and Scott (Jennifer) Moore and their daughter Jody (Ray) Altman all of Douglas, Ga.
Mrs. Moore was born on July 13, 1936 in Lagrange, Georgia to the late Homer Lamar Mann and Lizzie Jewell Mann. Mrs. Moore was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and lover of Christ. She was a dedicated Pink Lady volunteer for over 10 years. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and attended the Opal Smith Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by two sisters, Jackie Mann and Betty Cole and a brother, Lamar Mann.
Barbara is survived by her husband, three children, one sister Judy (Jim) Gurley of Lake Martin, AL; Seven grandchildren, Jordan Moore and Brett (Chasta) Moore both of Fernandina Beach, FL; Adrianne (Ben) Hatch of Nashville, TN; Blake Carver, Ashlyn Carver, April (Jacob) Lott and Sandy (Jamie) Spivey all of Douglas, GA; Seven great- grandchildren, Holynn Lott, Hudson Lott, Hallie Lott, Kendalyn Spivey and Cadence Spivey all of Douglas, Georgia; Mila Moore and Jolie Moore of Fernandina beach FL; special friends, Ronnie and Shelia Anderson of Valdosta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the City of Douglas Cemetery. Rev. Shep Johnson and Rev. Robert Wiggly and will officiate. Pallbearers will be Terry Moore, Scott Moore, Jordan Moore, Brett Moore, Jacob Lott and Jamie Spivey.
Music will be provided by Gaylan Collins; “Holy Ground”, “Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I Know” and “Sweet, Sweet Spirit”.
In lieu of visitation, the family invites you to join them at the graveside in the comfort of your vehicle.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Douglas, Ga, Called to Care of Coffee County or Childhood Cancer Awareness Group of Coffee County.
