Wanell (Gillespie) Hutchison

Wanell Hutchison, age 89, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Monday December 2, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Hutchison, born on July 4, 1930 in Berrien County, Georgia was the daughter of the late Vernon Gillespie and the late Ludell Miranda Vickery Gillespie.

Mrs. Hutchison retired from Campbell’s Soup, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Hutchison; son, Bobby Hutchison; grandson, Stuart Hutchison; two brothers, James Gillespie and Lonnie Gillespie.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Larry Hutchison (Sue) of Douglas, GA and Verlon Hutchison (Sheila) of Douglas, GA; daughter-in-law, Freida Hutchison of Douglas, GA; two brothers, Carlton Gillespie (Mary Lou) of Douglas, GA and Bert (Barbara) Gillespie of Prattville, AL; six grandchildren, Jonathan (Carie) Hutchison of Douglas, GA; Emily Stanley (Ed) of Douglas, GA; David Hutchison (Christina) of Nicholls, GA; Ricky Hutchison (Carol) of Ambrose, GA; Spencer Hutchison (Kacie) of Douglas, GA and Ryan Hutchison (Rachel) of Ochlocknee, GA; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday December 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm at New Harmony Grove Church Cemetery in Atkinson County with Pastor Mark Mercer officiating. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hutchison, Ed Stanley, David Hutchison, Ricky Hutchison, Spencer Hutchison and Ryan Hutchison.
