Marion (Burch) Boyd

Marion Burch Boyd, age 88, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Boyd was born on August 8, 1933 in Laurens County, Georgia the daughter of the late William Ephraim Burch and Annie Maude Clark Burch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Dan Boyd, daughter that she raised and loved as her own, Linda Burch Sumner, 1 sister, Margaret Locke and 1 brother, Jack Burch.

Mrs. Boyd worked for Spectrum Apparel for over 20 years, and then retired from PCC as an Aircraft Parts Inspector. She was a member of Douglas First Baptist Church, Douglas, Georgia. This precious lady was known by many names, Grum, Ms. Boyd, Marion, Ms. Marion, Aunt Marion, Ma Shug, Mamma Marion but most importantly, Mamma. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, her animals and her friends and family. Other than spending time with family and friends her only passion was working in her yard.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Deborah Boyd of Douglas, GA and Denise Boyd Durden of McRae, GA; her fur baby, Princess Muffin; 3 grandchildren, Dewayne Roberts of McRae, GA, Danny McCauley (Alice) of Leesburg, GA and Slade McCauley (Brandi) of Folkston, GA; niece, Nancy Brown of Helena, GA; nephew, Wayne Young (Brenda) of Alamo, GA; several other relatives survive.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. Interment will follow at Central Grove Church of God Cemetery in McRae, GA. Pallbearers will be Danny McCauley, Slade McCauley, Dewayne Roberts, Hal McCallum, Ricky Harper, Dr. Justin Harrell and Roger Blanton.
