Linton “L.D.” Sapp, age 82, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday June 19, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Sapp was born on December 8, 1936 in Baxley, Georgia to the son of the late Ralph Waldo Sapp and Rosa Lee Wilson Sapp.
Mr. Sapp was a retired post commander of the Georgia State Patrol and later retired as an agent with Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Baxley, GA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bernon Sapp.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Ann Sapp of Douglas, GA; son, Steve Sapp (wife Denise) of Douglas, GA; three brothers, Wayne Sapp of Baxley, GA, Dennis Sapp of Baxley, GA and Leon Sapp of North Augusta; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday June 22, 2019 at 2pm at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Steve Atkinson and Rev. Walter James officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 2pm prior to the graveside service at Sims Funeral Home.
