Kenneth Wayne Burkett

Kenneth Wayne Burkett, age 58, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Landmark Hospital of Savannah, Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Burkett was born on January 24, 1961 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Willie Columbus Burkett and the late Wonnie Ophelia Gray Burkett.

He worked as a truck driver with Davis Transportation and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Taylor.

Survivors include two sons, John Burkett of North Carolina and Phillip Burkett of Douglas, GA; step-daughter, Billie Jo Merritt of Douglas, GA; sister, Connie Smith (Johnny) of Douglas, GA; brother, Richard L. Burkett of Douglas, GA; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 26, 2019 from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Smith Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery.
