James Timothy Herrington

James Timothy Herrington, age 48, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Herrington was born on October 25, 1972 in Douglas, Georgia the son of Terry Allie Herrington and Peggy Elaine Stapleton Willis.

Mr. Herrington worked as an officer with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office for many years and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Ellen Irwin Herrington of Douglas, GA; daughter, Sydney Nicole Kirkland of Douglas, GA; 3 sons, Zachery (Lauren) Herrington of Hazlehurst, GA, John Dakota Herrington of Douglas, GA and, Dillon Ross Herrington of Douglas, GA; mother, Peggy Elaine Willis of Broxton, GA; father and step-mother, Terry & Sylvia Herrington of Broxton, GA; grandchildren, Alania & Nathan Kirkland of Douglas, GA; 2 brothers, Eric Lee (Cathy) Herrington of Broxton, GA and, Jacob Byron (Janie) Herrington of Broxton, GA; special aunt, Tina Scarborough of Broxton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gregory Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Herrington, Eric Herrington, Zach Herrington, Mason Herrington, Ron Lott and, Shannon Harper.
