Bonnie Ann Vickers McDonald, age 77, of Willacoochee, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. McDonald was born on June 12, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida the daughter of Vira Hall Vickers and the late Willie Vickers.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laymond Willie McDonald, two half-sisters, Lunell V. Mathews and Willie Mae Baker, half-brother, Wilie Vickers and her favorite pet, Chloe.
Mrs. McDonald attended Hebron Elementary School, Coffee High School and after graduation, she married Laymond McDonald. They bought the old Wall place near Lax where they enjoyed farming and raising their family.
Miss Bonnie as she was known to her friends loved her family. She was actively involved in the operation and decision making of McDonald Farms. To know her was to love her. She was unselfish and had a genuine love for others. If she had any problems or pain, she didn’t let you know. And up until last year, she enjoyed good health. Bonnie was a good cook and enjoyed having her family at her large table. A kind and loving person, she would never hurt anything or anybody. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. McDonald was also a member of Westwood Baptist Church, Ambrose, Georgia.
Survivors include three sons, Laymond McDonald (Karla), Keith M. McDonald (Carla) and Willie Neal McDonald all of Willacoochee, GA; mother, Vira Hall Vickers of Ambrose, GA; two brothers, Richard Vickers (Ruth) of Ambrose, GA and Windell Vickers (Eva) of Atlanta, GA; sister, Vicki Giddens (Donnie) of Pearson, GA; half-brother, Harold Vickers of Douglas, GA; 5 grandchildren, Morgan McDonald, Raelyn Dill, Zach McDonald, Cason McDonald, Milly Akridge; 4 great grandchildren, Abby McDonald, Gunner Dill, Rylee Dill, Dallen Giddens; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 12:30pm until 2pm at Westwood Baptist Church, Ambrose, GA.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2:00pm at Purvis Cemetery with Rev. Jack Chaney and Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. Pallbearers will be Bernard Vickers, Ray Shealey, Jeramy Dill, Kerry Moore, Billy Wingate, Levi Smith, Don Gillis, Greg Evans.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Westwood Baptist Church, 2650 Younge Fussell Rd.,Ambrose, GA 31512.
