Bernie Harper, Jr.

Bernie Harper, Jr., age 62, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Harper was born on January 13, 1959 in Augusta, Georgia the son of the late Bernie & Blanche Hattie Hodge Harper Sr.

Mr. Harper worked for Beasley Timber Products, Hazlehurst, Georgia as a truck driver and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include son, Chris Harper (Brittany) of Douglas, GA; daughter, Kayla Spivey (Corey) of Douglas, GA; 2 brothers, Wayne Carter of Douglas, GA and, Jerome Carter of Green Bay, Wisconsin; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Fussell officiating. Interment will follow at Elam Harper Cemetery, Ambrose, GA.
