Willifred M. Thompson, age 88, of Broxton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Thompson was born on June 15, 1931 in Broxton, Georgia the daughter of the late Ward L. Moseley and the late Eddie Lou Brundage Moseley.
Mrs. Thompson worked for the Clerk of Court, Herbert Mote, for thirty-three years, thereafter served as the Clerk of Court of Coffee County for twenty-years, having a total of fifty-three years of service in county government. She also was a member of First Baptist Church Broxton.
Survivors include her five caretakers, Mable Manley of Broxton, GA, Teresa Gordon of Douglas, GA, Diane Gross of Douglas, GA, Glenda Hodges of Douglas, GA and Mary Butler of Douglas, GA; special friend, Angela Spell Hutto.
The family will receive friends Friday evening December 27, 2019 from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 28, 2019 at First Baptist Church Broxton with Rev. Den Weniger and Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. Interment will follow at Pridgen Church Cemetery. She will lay-in-state at the church Saturday morning from 10am until time of service at 11am. Pallbearers will be Deputies of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
Musical selections will be “One Day at a Time” and “What a Mighty God We Serve” both by CD. Rev. Den Weniger will provide prelude and postlude music.
