Walter Brooks

Walter Brooks, age 85, of Douglas, Georgia and Highlands, North Carolina passed away on Monday August 20, 2018 at Landmark Hospital, Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Brooks was born on August 23, 1932 in Stills Cross Road, Alabama the son of the late Willie Watson Brooks and Lucille Bush Brooks.

He was a plant operations manager with Georgia Power, attended Troy State University in Alabama and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell David Brooks, brother, Gilman Brooks and two sisters, Emma Brooks and Hazel Brooks.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Brooks, North Hutchison Island, FL; daughter, Angela Brooks Wiggins, Douglas, GA and Highlands, NC; four grandchildren, Rebekah Claire Wiggins, Highlands, NC, Savannah Brooks of Eatonton, GA, Lollie Brooks of Eatonton, GA and Glen Walter Brooks of Eatonton, GA; sister, Annette Brooks, Geneva, Alabama.

Celebration of life services will be at a later date.

Memorialization is by cremation.

The family requests memorials in Mr. Brooks honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
