Troy C. Prescott Sr.

Troy C. Prescott Sr., age 73, 0f Douglas, Georgia passed away on Thursday July 12, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Prescott was born on April 28, 1945 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Emmett Prescott and Ella Mae Bazemore.

He was an inspector with Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, attended Lone Hill Methodist Church and loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Mr. Prescott was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters: Helen Davis, Maggie Spires, Inella Davis and Eva Mae Millington and three brothers: Lynnwood Prescott, Edward Prescott and Sammie Prescott.

Survivors include his wife: Charlene Deen Prescott of Douglas, GA; son, Troy C. Prescott Jr. and wife Darla of Colquitt, GA; step-son, Johnny Ellis of Douglas, GA; two step-daughters, Jamie Ellis of Douglas, GA and Judy Lee of Douglas, GA; two brothers, Ralph Prescott of Augusta, GA and Roy Prescott of Douglas, GA; sister, Sarah Prescott of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Nicholas Prescott, Tyler Prescott ,Chandler Prescott and Lacy Prescott; three great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren, Tabb Davis, Ashley Davis, J.J. Ellis, Brandon Ellis, John David Lee, Katie Leon and Taylor Ellis.

Funeral services will be held Sunday July 15, 2018 at 2:00pm at Lone Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Ann Braswell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Military honors being provided by the United States Army Honor Guard.. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Sims Funeral Home.
