Mr. William Rudolph Strom, age 91, of Douglas, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Douglas, GA. Mr. Strom was born on January 18, 1927, in Telfair County Georgia to the late George Washington Strom and Mary Ann Burgess Strom. He was a member of Broxton Church of God, Broxton, GA.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Strom of Douglas, GA; daughters, Wanda Ruth Moore of Douglas, GA, and Carrie Jane Strom of Douglas, GA; sons, Louie Strom and wife Janet Strom of Broxton, GA, and Rodney Strom of Douglas, GA; sister, Yvonne Nunnold of McRae, GA; brothers, Elisha Strom of Patterson, GA, and Julian Strom and wife Carol Strom of McRae, GA; six grandchildren, Carrie Ann Jewell, Amber Moralez, Haley Wooten, Holly Wicker, Anna Kinnard, and Casey Strom, sixteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Strom.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Broxton Church of God with Rev. Milton Pate, Rev. Stanley Steverson and Julian Strom officiating. Special songs will be “I Want to Stroll over Heaven” and What A Day That Will Be” performed by David Smith, soloist accompanied by Don Harrell. “Fishing in the Sky” to be sung by Travis Smith. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Friday at Sims Funeral Home. Mr. Strom will lie in state from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Broxton Church of God. The interment will be at the Broxton Church of God Cemetery.
