Raymond M. Phillips, age 84, of Broxton, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Navicent Health, Macon, Georgia. Mr. Phillips was born on February 14, 1935 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Luther Phillips and the late Gladys Harper Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was a retired plant supervisor for Fiesta Homes, was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Georgia Army National Guard. He was a member of Broxton Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Jerry Phillips, Dena Wilkerson and Linda Tarlton.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley M. Phillips of Broxton, GA; three sons, Bob Ward (Mary) of Broxton, GA, Kevin Ward (Vickie) of Denver, CO and Keith Phillips (Misty) of Douglas, GA; five daughters, Elaine Burleson (Duck) of Ambrose, GA, Rhonda Floyd of Douglas, GA, Shari Smith (Eddie) of Fitzgerald, GA, Sabrina Nall (Wayne) of Broxton, GA and Sandra Carver (Gordon) of Wray, GA; twenty-eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday evening January 13, 2020 from 6pm until 9pm at Broxton Church of God.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 14, 2020 at 2:00pm at Broxton Church of God with Rev. Joey Copeland officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Ward, Dawson Ward, Hunter Kimbrough, Marcus Wilkerson, Lake Nall, Brandon Carver, Jeffery Smith and Ethan Nettles.
Music provided by Ted Burke, singing “Whisper Sweet Peace to Me” and “Mercy Walked In” and Marlon Smith singing “I’m Going to Take a Vacation”. Karen Batten, pianist, played throughout the service.
