Peggy Carol (Seagraves) Hurd

Mrs. Peggy Carol Seagraves Hurd, age 70, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at the Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.  Mrs. Hurd was born on May 18, 1949, in Athens, GA to the late Albert Seagraves and the late Mildred Seagraves.

Peggy was an active member of First Baptist Church, served as Family Administrator for 10 years and taught Sunday School. She was a loving mother and friend to all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lavonda Lee Hurd.

Survivors include her son, Phillip Dewillis Hurd, Jr, of Douglas, GA; grandchildren,Justin Garrett Hurd, Grace Key (Chris), Joseph McMillan (Shiann) and Jonathon McMillan; great grandchildren, Emma Grace Key, Makinley Keith Luke, Mitzi Adalyn-Rae McMillan and Mila Lemon McMillan; cousin, Sharon Barham of Charlotte, NC; 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Donald Hattaway officiating. Interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens. Congregational songs will be “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art” with Sonja Hattaway on piano.

Pallbearers will be Joseph McMillan, Jonathon McMillan, Steve Bailey, Jackie Flangen, Stacey Roberson and Doug Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Same Sweet Girls.

The family request that in Lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the local Charity of your choice.
