Mrs. Josephine Pratt Chaney, age 82, of Douglas, GA,formerly of Great Bridge/Chesapeake, VA passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Memorial Medical University Medical Center, Savannah, Ga. Mrs. Chaney was born on May 17, 1937 in Nace, VA to the late Lincoln Henry Pratt and Clyde Cora Waddle Moffatt
Survivors include: Husband: Marvin Lee "Billy" Chaney of Douglas, GA. Daughter: Lesley Joanne (husband, Mike) Pelka of Raphine, VA. Son: Mike (wife, Nancy) Chaney of Warr Acres, OK. .Sisters: Nancy Pratt of Great Bridge, VA, Sis (husband Rodger) Parker of Currituck, NC; Dickie (husband Ralph) Kendrick of Great Bridge, VA. Sisters-in-Law: Doris Pratt and Gail Pratt of Great Bridge, VA. Grandchildren: Melissa (husband, Dillon) Chaney Pieffer, Ryan (wife, Jackie) Chaney; Bryan (wife, Kalah) Pelka, Michelle Pelka, Casey Greggs and Perry (wife, Lesley) Greggs. Great Grandchildren: Rex, Molly, Jack and soon to be Ella, Pieffer, Lily Pelka, Ryann Chaney, Cameron and Caitlin Ackley.
"Josey" was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. By living with an open, loving heart coupled with her service to others and commitment to her faith, she made wonderful memories with her family that has helped shaped them all into the strong loving individuals they are today. She will be very much missed, but never forgotten.
No arrangements have been made at this time. Some future function will be planned to allow her family and friends to celebrate her life.
