Joe Glen Solomon, 82, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday June 27, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Solomon was born on April 12, 1936 in Douglas, Georgia the son of the late Morgan Solomon and Amanda Taylor Solomon.
He was a retired Superintendent with the City of Douglas Lighting Department and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Mr. Solomon was preceded in death by daughter, Lisa Kay Solomon and brother, Eugene Solomon.
Survivors include; his wife Martha Adell Smith Solomon; two sons, Jeffery Solomon and wife Jan of Athens, GA and Jason Solomon of Douglas, GA; two stepdaughters, Toni Taylor of Douglas, GA and Terry Odom and husband Johnny of Waynesboro, GA; two brothers, James Solomon of Douglas, GA and Aldeen Solomon of Fitzgerald, GA; sister, Ruby Taylor of Douglas, GA; ten grandchildren, Nathan Taylor, Taylor Solomon, Natalie Crews, Morgan Solomon, Tanner Solomon, Hunter Odom, Drew Solomon, Baylie Odom, Jo Walker Solomon and Lizzie Bea Solomon; two great grandchildren, Ayden Taylor and Brinley Taylor.
Funerals services will be held on Sunday July 1, 2018 at 2:00pm at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Spivey and Jeffery Solomon giving the eulogy. Interment will follow at Franklin Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday July 1, 2018 from 12:30pm until the funeral hour at 2:00pm.
