Elva Kight Spivey, age 89, passed away on Thursday March 29, 2018 at Vista Park following an extended illness.
Mrs. Spivey was born on September 9, 1928 in Douglas, GA the daughter to the late Ed Kight and Minnie Harper Kight. She was a sales clerk with Powell’s Drug Store for many years and was a member of Tanner Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death her husband, George Spivey, granddaughter, Jill Spivey, four brothers, Bill Kight, E.J. Kight, George “Buck” Kight and Edmond Kight and two sisters, Jessie Mae Sweat and Cora Bell Wooten.
Survivors include a daughter, Carnell Jackson of Nicholls, GA; two sons, John Spivey and wife Jackie of Douglas, GA and Harvey Spivey of Nicholls, GA; three sisters, Betty Starling of Eatonton, GA, Marie McKinley of Dublin, GA and Lurlyne Young of Fitzgerald, GA; five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00PM on Monday April 2, 2018 at Tanner Church Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Jordan officiating. The family will receive fiends Monday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home.
