Dorothy Spivey, age 74, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday July 17, 2018 at Select Speciality Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Mrs. Spivey was born on September 3, 1943 in Tifton, Georgia the daughter to the late Truitt Edward Fowler and Mary Agnes Parrish Fowler.
She was a certified CNA with Nightingale Services Inc. and attended Anchor Fellowship Church.
Mrs. Spivey was also preceded in death by her husband, John Spivey and a grandson, Stephen Goodman.
Survivors include three daughters, Marie Abad and husband Jody of Tifton, GA, Krystal Vining of Douglas, GA and Delane Fowler of Douglas, GA; five grandchildren, Kimberly Goodman, Melanie Beeman, Clayton Yawn, Jarod Beeman and Ethan Yawn; four great grandchildren, Alyssa Goodman, Harli Goodman, Jasper Hutto and Ana Noel; sister, Ann Fowler Smith of Tifton, GA; two brothers, Hollis Fowler and Arlon Fendley; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday July 21, 2018 at 11:00am at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fred Evers and Pastor Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Sims Funeral Home.
