Delorice Day Wooten, age 89, passed away on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Alma, Georgia. Mrs. Wooten was born on July 9, 1929 in Broxton, Georgia the daughter to the late George Henderson Day and Annie Mae Jackson Day.
Mrs. Wooten was the former owner of Delorice’s Florist and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Wooten; son, Gerald Wooten, great granddaughter, Sheyanna West and siblings, Edward Day, Adrian Day, Aubrey Day, Leroy Day, Willene Graham and JoAnn Renew.
Survivors include three daughters, Dr. Martha Wooten Solomon and husband Gerald of Cookeville, TN, Lynda Mobley and husband Cliff of Broxton, GA, Gwendolyn Deen and husband Craig of Broxton, GA ; one daughter-in-law, Delora Music and husband Denny of Alma, GA; brother, James Day and wife Mary Lou of Douglas, GA; sister, Betty Smith of Douglas, GA; eleven grandchildren, Barry Solomon (Cindy), Michelle Hehnert (Matt), Randy Wooten, Kimberly Snell (Terry), Andy Stapleton (April), Shannon Harden (John), Dudley Mobley (Cindy), Wendy Bracewell (Irvin), Tracey Deen (Kelly), Brent Deen (Kimberly); seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 21, 2018 at 2:00pm at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Van McCall officiating and Randy Wooten giving the eulogy. Interment will follow at Broxton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6pm until 9:00pm at Sims Funeral Home.
