Carl Roger Wilson, Jr

Carl Roger Wilson, Jr., age 60, of Axson, Georgia passed away on Tuesday August 28, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Wilson was born on October 16, 1957 in Douglas, Georgia the son of Doris Ellen Roberts Wilson Taylor of Douglas, Georgia and the late Carl Roger Wilson, Sr.

He worked as a brick mason, in law enforcement with Douglas City Police Department and was a Chief Deputy with Atkinson County Sheriff’s Department.  Mr. Wilson was a member of Church of God of Prophecy, Pearson, GA.   

Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife Pamela Ruth Wilson of Axson, GA; three daughters, Stephanie Lynn Vick and husband Ron, Kelly Michele Gurley and husband DJ and Katie Jeanette Sexton and husband Josh all of Nicholls, GA; two sons, Stacey Carl Wilson and wife Stephanie and Carl Roger Wilson, III and wife Kristina of Nicholls, GA; one step-daughter, Jade Lott Norton and husband Jason, Colorado Springs, CO; two step-sons, Rocky Harper and wife Kristi of Sarasota, FL and James Harper and wife Ashley of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Rebecca Wilson, Rachel Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Savannah Leslie, Bridgette Leslie, Morgan Vick, Halei Vick, Madison Gurley, Mason, Gurley, Cameron Seymour, Kaitlyn Sexton, Jackson Sexton, Lyla Wilson, Jesalyn Harper, Joshua Harper, Caleb Harper, Jacob Harper; one great grandchild, Colton Smith; sister, Ellen Wilson Deen and husband Johnny of Douglas, GA; two brothers, Wesley Robert Wilson and wife Rhonda of Nicholls, GA and James Julian Wilson and wife Connie of Wray, GA; sister-in-law, Galicia O’Brien and husband Mike of Mora, GA; brother-in-law, Shawn Faulkner and wife Michelle of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 31, 2018 at 2:00pm at Saving Grace Ministries with Rev. Cliff Kirkland and Rev. Hardy Crosby officiating. Mr. Wilson will lie-in-state from 1:00pm until time of service. Interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Sims Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Stacey Wilson, Carl Wilson, DJ Gurley, Josh Sexton, Ron Vick, John Michael Deen, James Harper and Rocky Harper.
