Barbara Elizabeth Jowers

Barbara Elizabeth Jowers, age 79, passed away on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at Regency Hospital, Macon, GA following a brief illness.

Mrs. Jowers was born in Duval County, FL the daughter to the late John Q. Jones, and Lillie Mae Roberson Jones. She worked as abus driver for the Coffee County School System for many years, was a homemaker and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Jowers and a son, John Tracey Jowers.

Survivors include two sons, Trevor Jowers and wife Ann of Ambrose, GA and Tommy Jowers of Ambrose; two sisters, Vivian Ortega and husband Manny of Middleburg, FL and Bertha Lee Waite and husband Buck of Briceville, FL; brother, Raymond Jones and wife Delaine of Briceville, FL; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday April 14, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Carroll Carver officiating. Mrs. Jowers will lie-in-state at the church from 10:00am until the funeral hour. Interment will be in New Hope Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening April 13, 2018 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Sims Funeral Home.
