Rayford "Ray" Spinks

Rayford "Ray" Spinks, age 72, of Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Spinks was born on February 13, 1942, in Fitzgerald, GA to the late Harvey Spinks and Birder Hardeman Spinks.
Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn Spinks of Douglas, GA; son, Jay Spinks of Rincon, GA; daughter, Renee (Johnny) Thompson of Wray, GA; three sisters, Geraldine McCranie of Eastman, GA, Rachael Clements of Rochelle, GA, and Annie Ashley of Brunswick, GA, three grandchildren, Brandon Spinks of Rincon, GA, Heather Thompson and Nicholas Thompson both of Wray, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean Harrell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Reedy Branch Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Den Weniger and Rev. John Dobbins officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Music is furnished for the service by Higher Praise "Holy City, New Jerusalem" and Congregation "At The Cross". Active Pallbearers are: Al Lott, J.W. Carver, David Lott, Elisha Vickers, Mallory Smith, Charles Stapleton, Skip Anderson, and Derrell Carter. Honorary Pallbearers are: Senior Citizens Sunday School Class of Reedy Branch Baptist Church, Deacons of Eastside Baptist Church, Employees of Lott Hardware,Jerry Brooks, Raymond Brown, Willis Musgrove, Asa Whitfield, Cecil Holt, Clyde Harper, and Gary Crawford. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
