Mary Brooks Corbitt

Mary Brooks Corbitt, age 94, of Belleville, MI passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Corbitt was born on April 26, 1920, in Telfair County, GA to the late Leon Brooks and Carrie Averitt Brooks. Survivors include: her two sons, Charles Corbitt of Belleville, MI and Russell Corbitt of Greenbrier, TN; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Jairus Brooks; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "TJ" Corbitt; three grandchildren; and three brothers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Den Weniger officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
