Lottie Nell Wooten, age 75, of Douglas, Ga. passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Pruitt Health Care following an extended illness. Mrs. Wooten was born on March 21, 1941, in Douglas, Ga. to the late Dewey Roman Chaney and Lucinda Gaff Chaney. Survivors include: her brother, Dewey (Patti) Chaney of Waverly, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kenneth (CeCe) Brigmond of Wray, Ga., Michael (Jessica) Brigmond of Smithdale, Miss., Roman Merritt of Wray, Ga., and Candace Floyd of Douglas, Ga.; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.W. Wooten; two daughters, Nancy Russ and Tammy Russ; great grandson, Lucian Merritt; and a sister, Mae Harper. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Shane McDuffie officiating. Interment will follow at Wray Holiness Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
