Leon Joiner

Leon Joiner, age 66, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab Center following an extended illness. Mr. Joiner was born on September 1, 1949, in Willacoochee, GA to the late Roscoe Joiner and Rita Marie Chaput Joiner.
Survivors include: his four daughters, Barbara Hicks of Tifton, GA, Christine Joiner of Bronwood, GA, Pauline Stewart of Ellaville, GA, and Rachel (Mike) Jaskulski of Ellaville, GA; son, Ryan Leon Joiner of Douglas, GA; two brothers, Charles Joiner and Richard Joiner both of Massachusetts; sister, Lisa Yawn of Douglas, GA; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his wife, Sherry Paulk Joiner; parents, Roscoe and Rita Chaput Joiner; two brothers, Ronnie Joiner and Larry Joiner; and three sisters, Becky Yawn, Glenda Sue Pantridge, and Margie Suggs. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. Interment will follow at Westwood Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
