Laura Vazquez

Laura Vazquez, age 66, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness. Ms. Vazquez was born on February 7, 1950, in Moultrie, GA to the late Frederick Hemphill and Mary Murphy Hemphill. Survivors include: her son, Steven Croker of Cleveland, OH; three daughters, Ruthie Mae Anderson of Douglas, GA, Jacqueline Burke of Douglas, GA, and Thalia Cooper of Coolidge, GA; brother, Freddie Hemphill of Douglas, GA; three half brothers, Jackie Dean of Kentucky, Joey Dean of Thomasville, GA, and Linwood Dean of Douglas, GA; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Time Church of God with Rev. Cliff Kirkland, Rev. Russell McQuaig, and Rev. Levi Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
