Kelley Winston Merritt

Kelley Winston Merritt, 69, passed away at his residence in Douglas, GA following a brief illness.
He was born on July 19, 1945 to the late Ivey and Alice Harper Merritt. Mr. Merritt was a farmer in Coffee County and a member of St. Illa Bapitst Church.

Survivors include: wife: Shirley Stone Merritt, Douglas, GA; daughter: Cindy (T. J.) Hutto, Douglas, GA; son: Richard (Kim) Keith Merritt, Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Kelly Luke Merritt, Kristin Merritt, Ivy Merritt, Kaylin Merritt, Chad Hutto and Andrew Hutto; brother: R. T. (Myrtle) Merritt, Nicholls, GA and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Merritt was preceded in death by: brothers: Wendel Merritt and Waldo Merritt.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Illa Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Walter James, officiating and Rev. Elisha Purvis, Jr. will preside at the graveside. Interment will follow in the Griffin Cemetery.
