Fernell Harkleroad

Fernell Harkleroad, age 83, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014, at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Harkleroad was born on February 9,1931 in Broxton, GA to the late Conley Harkleroad and Jarvie Cannon Harkleroad.
Survivors include: his wife, Delayne Rowell Harkleroad of Fortson, GA; daughter, Lynn (Kyle) Kinman of Fortson, GA; sister, Joann Burkett of West Green, GA; two grandchildren, Allison (Robbie) Bowden and Becky (Richard) Kemmer; three great grandchildren, Jack Bowden, Adeline Bowden, and Lawson Kemmer; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in by a son, Craig Harkleroad.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at Central Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Wes Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Central Baptist Church Cemetery. Music is furnished for the service by Church Choir "Mansion Over The Hilltop" and "This World Is Not My Home" with Amanda Hayes playing the piano. Active Pallbearers are: Hugh Burkett, Keith Burkett, Ronnie Burkett, Coch Harkleroad, Thomas Harkleroad, Thad Harkleroad, and Jason Harkleroad. Honorary Pallbearers are: Deacons of Central Baptist Church and Postal Workers (3). Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to Central Baptist Church.
