MRS. DIANNE DORMINEY
Mrs. Dianne Cheatwood Dorminey, 64, of Newnan, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015, at her home.
Mrs. Dorminey was born July 25, 1950, in Buchanan, daughter of the late David Wilson Cheatwood, Jr. and Thelma Dentmon Cheatwood Teat. She retired from Bellsouth after more than thirty years of service and later retired from ITW. A member of Harrisonville Baptist Church in Troup County, she enjoyed life, loved her family, and especially loved her dog, Snoopy.
Survivors include her husband, James E. (Jim) Dorminey of Newnan; sons, Chris Rooks and Matt Rooks both of Carrollton; step-sons, Chad and Cheryl Dorminey of Corinth, Clint and Kim Dorminey of Grantville; former daughter in-law who served as a special caregiver, Mary Ann Popp of Carrollton; brothers, Jerry and Doris Cheatwood, Waymon and Ann Cheatwood, all of Carrollton, David Cheatwood of Felton; sisters in-law, Latrelle and Earl Hann of Cartersville, Lynette and Taz Latham of Douglasville; brothers in-law, Julian and Evelyn Dorminey, Warren and Trish Dorminey, all of Douglas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, J. B. Teat; and brothers, Kenneth Cheatwood and B. F. Cheatwood.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Stephen Peeples officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 Tuesday night. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Ashley, Shannon Cheatwood, Steve Cheatwood, Alex Rooks, Clint Dorminey, Michael Popp, Dalton McCain, Brett Hambrick, Jayron Perry, and Katie Rooks.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 30, at Saint Illa Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Coffee County, with the Reverend Hughey Nicholls officiating. The family will receive friends at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas from 5 until 8 Thursday night. Pallbearers will be Darrell Merritt, Frederick Merritt, Joe Merritt, Jeff Meeks, Clint Dorminey and Chad Dorminey.
