Coley Hampton Davis

Coley Hampton Davis, age 87, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Davis was born on March 30, 1927, in Douglas, GA to the late Archie Coley Davis and Renner Wright Davis.
Survivors include: his wife, Virginia Gourley Davis of Douglas, GA; two grandsons, Dusty Hampton (Candace) Davis of Baxley, GA and Roman Coley Davis of Houston, TX; son, Mark Davis; daughter: Modena Deen; three special nieces, Jane McKinnon, Virginia O'Steen, and Julie Heulitt; cousin and best friend, Clifford Davis of Adel, GA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lavada Inman and four infant brothers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson, Rev. Michael Bass, Joe Day, Bonnie Thomas, and Roman Coley Davis officiating. Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
