Vernelle Tanner

Vernelle Tanner, age 87, of Douglas, Ga. passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Shady Acres following an extended illness. Mrs. Tanner was born on June 11, 1930, in Douglas, Ga. to the late Thomas Roberts and Georgia Mae Atkinson Roberts.

Survivors include: her daughter, Lynn (Tommy) Harrell of Douglas, Ga.; son, Richard (Linda) Tanner of Crawfordville, Fl.; four grandchildren, Christina Berry, Jodie Tanner, Hanna Harrell Roberts, and Hayden Harrell; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Tanner; and a grandson, Josh Tanner.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 14, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jimbo Steed officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Grove Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
