Robert Eugene Harless

Robert "Bob" Eugene Harless, age 83, passed away on May 17, 2017 after a short illness.  He was born December 19,1933 to the late Walter and Louise Harless in Gauley Bridge, West Virginia. He attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa OK.  He then flew for Southern Airways in Atlanta before moving to Hazlehurst, Georgia, where he was a corporate pilot for Cook & Company for 12 years.  He went on to become the owner of Harless Aviation as well as the operator of the Douglas Municipal airport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline, daughter-in-law, Paula and brother, Lee.

He is survived by his daughter, Beth Harless of Douglas, son, Gregg, of McDonough, son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Linda, of Southlake, Texas; five grandchildren, Matt (Erica), Zach (Mallory) of McDonough, Chad (Macy) of Atlanta, Lindsey (Paul) of Charleston, South Carolina and Trey of Southlake Texas; five great-grandchildren Maleek, Kaleb, Makhi, and Makayla Harless of McDonough and Anna Swift of Charleston; two brothers, Scott (Anne) of Charlton Heights, West Virginia and Steve (Janet) of Fayetteville, Georgia.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 21 from 12:00-2:00 at Sims Funeral Home, with the funeral following at 2:00.  Internment will be in the Douglas City Cemetery
